Flying the Morning Glory 2023

In September 2023, club members Grant Rookes and Peter Howlett flew Grant’s Stemme S10-VT motor glider across Australia to Burketown (Queensland) to seek out and soar a unique cloud formation called the Morning Glory. This movie was filmed by Grant, Peter and other pilots in the area and edited by club member, David Fosdick.

There I was, minding my own business, when a Jantar flew by….

This movie was filmed and edited by club member Mark Strickland (aka Cecil B. de Strick) over the Beverley area. The Jantar was piloted by Ross McLernon (aka Thomas Batross Crown).

The amazing YouTube movie below was made by photographer Ben Hammersley, a visitor to our club, using the latest 360 degree camera technology.

On supported devices, you can click and drag your mouse while playing the movie to look in every direction, including up and down! Ben is sitting in the front seat enjoying the view with another POV camera attached to his head.

Fun Flying Day
